Joe Fuentes has created a trio that brings contemporary Jazz sounds 

that apeal to a wide variety of audiences - from Smooth Jazz fans and Latin Jazz

lovers to Straight-Ahead and Funk Driven Jazz enthusiasts. 

Although not always 100% acoustic  (the name "acoustic" was adopted after the    

notion that Joe intended to use his Takamine acoustic nylon-string guitar   

exclusively throughout this project. Currently, he also incorporates his

Guild electric single-pickup archtop guitar) his performances are always 

dynamic, fun, expressive, full of emotion, sensitivity, and creativity.

Appearing as an opening act for Artists such as Ray Obiedo, Bobby Caldwell, 

and Joe Sample, Fuentes has extensive experience playing in all kinds of 

settings: From small jazz clubs like the "Club Ibex" in San Jose and regional

Wine, Art and Jazz Festivals, to larger stages such as The "Concord Pavilion"

in Walnut Creek.

The Trio setup often plays a collection of Joe's original material as well as 

arrangements of familiar tunes that jazz lovers, as well as non-jazz connoisseurs, 

easily recognize and Love.  


Lately, Joe has been accompanied by Bassist & Singer/Songwriter John Lester 

and Drummer, percussionist and Steel-Pan player Phil Hawkins.
