Joe has finished the recording of his third CD inspired by the evergrowing
coffee culture in San Francisco. Most of the music featured is in contemporary
jazz combo format (i.e. bass, drums, keyboards, guitars, etc.).
Jim Santella, of All About Jazz, says "it's music for relaxation, but
with a powerful lead guitar wake-up call". This "contemporary jazz
MUST HAVE CD", as described by Morrice Blackwell of Jazz Review,
is scheduled for release by Trippin' and Rhythm, the label that has brought you NAC
giant Paul Hardcastle and the Jazzmasters.
Joe, a coffee lover himself, spends a lot of time in local coffee houses when not
rehearsing or recording. "It's one of my great pleasures to sit at a coffee house
and think about musical ideas while having a good capuccino, watching people
interact with one another.
I am fond of watching the people who sit alone with their "things"--like a book,
a pen and notebook, a magazine, or whatever. Often, that is when I come up with
musical ideas and phrases."
